Are you ready for 20 genius clothing cures and fashion fixes you wish you’d know sooner? I know you are!
As a busy mom, every day can seem like an uphill battle filled with tears, tantrums and time ticking away. So, I always welcome any and all help to make my life easier.
If your days are demanding and draining, then these lovely little nuggets of clothing cures and fashion fixes are just what the doctor ordered to make your life easier.
- Want wrinkle-free clothes all day long?
If you’ve just ironed your clothes, leave them to cool down before dressing in them. This allows the clothes to cool down and enables the smoothness to set in. When this happens, your clothes will be wrinkle-free all day long.
- Love the look of whiter teeth, but don’t want to use chemicals?
A gorgeous smile compliments an amazing outfit. Make sure your outfit isn’t ruined by discoloured teeth. Try using a banana peel to help your pearly whites look their best. Using circular motions, rub your teeth with a banana peel for a few minutes daily. This will lighten and brighten them without the use of unsafe chemicals and have you looking gorgeous and glamourous.
- Have smelly clothes that need wearing now?
Grab some vodka. Hopefully, you have some handy for when the kids get on your last nerve & you need a break. The amount of alcohol in the vodka disinfects your clothes. Add an essential oil to the smelly area to give it a lovely scent and you’re good to go!
- Can never find a hair pin when you need it?
It’s such a pain not finding hair pins when you need them most. I hate having annoying stray hairs in my face. It’s so irritating and frustrating, especially when I’m busy and running late – which is most of the time. I’ve found that popping those pesky pins in a handy container like a tic tac box, is great for finding them when I need them most. Add some stylish decorations and transform the box into a work of art. You’ll be less stressed and save a ton of time and energy having all your pins in one place.
- Throwing a tantrum because of tangled necklaces?
I absolutely hate wasting time & energy untangling necklaces, especially when I’m in a rush. There’s nothing more frustrating than having to fiddle with those flimsy things. So to avoid throwing a tantrum, here’s what to do. Simply pull a straw through the chain of the necklace and this keeps it from tangling and you from being in tears.
- Want to stop clothes from fading?
Add some distilled vinegar to the laundry when you’re washing your jeans and other dark coloured clothing. This should stop the fading dead in its tracks & keep you clothes colourful.
- Hate static from your dryer?
Replace your dryer sheets with aluminium foil to eliminate static. As a bonus, you will save money because you can reuse the foil. Yay!
- In a hurry and can’t wait for clothes to dry?
Try putting a large clean towel in the dryer with the clothes. The towel should soak up tons of water and help the clothes dry faster. In a hurry and can’t wait for clothes to dry? - Need help finding your missing makeup?
Try sticking them to a magnetic board. Simply hot glue magnets to the back of your most elusive makeup products. Then connect the product to the magnetic board for easy access and easy storage. Just like that, the case of the missing makeup has been solved.
- What to avoid floppy boots taking up tons of space?
Use a wine bottle or rolled up newspaper to keep your boots erect when not wearing them. This helps to keep them shapely and upright, instead of floppy and taking up a ton of space.
- Bad smelling shoes getting you noticed for the wrong reasons?
As a busy momma, I love the comfort and convenience of flat shoes. I can slip on a stylish pair, look glamourous and still run behind my energetic babies, without a second thought. What I don’t love is the sweaty scent that running around can cause. To eliminate the bad scent, sprinkle a bit of baking soda in your shoes and leave overnight. The baking soda should disinfect and destroy the odour. The next morning, your shoes should smell really well. Ready for another day of looking and smelling great.
- Have tight shoes that need stretching now?
Wear a pair of thick socks and use a hair dryer around the area that needs stretching. The heat helps to stretch the shoes so you can wear them with style and comfort.
- Lumps & bumps in your mascara?
If you want to save time and money by not throwing away your mascara when it gets lumpy and bumpy, simply stir your mascara in some hot water until the lumps and bumps are gone. Dry it off and it’s good as new to use again and again.
- Makeup stains driving your crazy?
If you have an outfit you want to wear that accidentally gets makeup on it, here’s what to do. Remove that makeup stain quickly and easily by grabbing a baby wipe or a wet wipe. Add a bit of shaving cream and laundry detergent to the wet wipe and rub the makeup stain gently until it disappears. Then use another wipe, with a bit of water to remove any foam. Let the outfit dry and before you know, you’ll be good to go!
- Nowhere to hang your pretty purses?
A purse is an essential accessory to any fashionable outfit. Make sure you take care of yours so that you will always look well put together. Use small shower hooks in your closet to hang up your purses and keep them secure until the next time you want to step out in style. The shower hooks help with both storage and space. As a bonus, you are able to easily see and select which pretty purse you need quickly. This is great, especially when you’re late!
- Blisters bothering you when you’re out and about?
Busy moms are always on the go. This means that your feet may suffer from blisters and bruises. If so, use tape to cover the affected area. A bandage may slip off easily but the tape should not slip. It should keep the blister safe and secure while you’re on the go. The tape should also cover more because it is thicker than a bandage.
- Want a quick and easy arm workout?
Attach a couple of arm bands to your arms while you are styling or blow drying your hair. The repeated up and down movements of your arms with the added weights will give you a great workout. Very soon, you’ll have lovely, shapely arms to show off in those stylish tops.

- Want to get rid of armpit stains?
As a busy momma, getting underarm sweat stains are a hazard of the job. No need to be embarrassed or become a hermit, stuck in the house. Simply remove armpit stains with a mixture of lemon juice and baking soda. Just add some lemon juice to a bit of baking soda and water. Rub the mixture into the sweat stain and let it soak in for about an hour. Wash as normal, either by hand or in a machine and you’re all done.
- Feet in need of some tender loving care (TLC)?
Shoes are an essential accessory that should complement and complete your outfit. But shoes can also be painful and cause blisters. Do you need to massage those feet and relieve an abundance of stress in the process? Simply grab a tennis ball, or one of your kid’s small balls and roll your feet around on the ball while you relax and enjoy. This is a great massage for those tired, over worked momma feet. Also, do you have blisters from running up and down all day long? Add a tea bag to some water and soak those fabulous feet to relieve those horrid blisters. Give your feet some TLC. They so deserve it!
